Encounter The Spirit

Week Four: Your Encounter

1. Just about everyone gets a moment, at least once in life, when what you thought you had is not what you have. Have you had a moment like that? Say more about that story.
2. Do you know your baptism story? Were you a child? An adult? What did it mean to you?
3. Suppose someone asked you if you’ve been filled (or baptized) with the Holy Spirit. How would you answer? What evidence would you give?

You’re the witnesses. What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you,
so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high.” – Jesus (Luke

    1. There was a time just recently where I thought I had a career that I would have for the rest of my life. I thought “that” was my purpose. I am finding out that God has bigger things in store for me, I just don’t have a clue as to what they are yet. But I can say this, my career is NOT what I have now.

    2. Yes, I had the privilege of getting baptized at Lake Springs. It was almost a year ago now. It meant that I have become a new person and my sins were washed away. It was very special to me.

    3. I believe that I have been filled with the Holy Spirit because I am not the same person that I used to be. I have so much compassion for other people and lots of love in my heart. But before I was saved, I had alot of anger and hate in my heart. I had no remorse for hurting others. Now, if someone is upset with me, it nearly breaks my heart to know that I hurt them in any way. Things that used to interest me years ago, no longer interest me such as the places I go, movies I watch, etc.
